Service We Provide
The Consulate provides the following consular services:
- Issuance of Certificates of Identity. This is a one-way emergency travel document issued to Ugandans whose passports are either lost or deformed. Its validity ends upon arrival at Entebbe Airport. Issuance is CIs require: proof of citizenship; Police Report (for lost passports); two colored passport-size photographs; and RMB 250
- Issuance of introduction letters for passport renewal to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Ugandans unable to return to Uganda. Such Ugandans should have a valid immigration status
- Carrying out consular visits to Ugandans in hospitals, detention centers, courts and prisons and liaising with their families to share provide information and inform them of any required support – including passing on any such assistance received to the beneficiaries
- Mediation and dispute resolution especially for Ugandans who travel to the Consulate areas of accreditation for trade
- Certification of official documents issued by authorities in Uganda. However, where required, it is the responsibility of each individual to get the primary certification from government institutions which issued the original document. In this case, the Consulate will only provide secondary certification
- Liaison with families in Uganda for repatriation of remains of dead Ugandans
- Liaise with families of Ugandans facing civil or criminal proceedings on the available options for legal representation.
